The tools I use as a social media manager

Whether you are an aspiring social media manager or you’re looking to start a business in a different field, these tools can help you create great systems and create a great customer experience for your clients.

Before I launched Content by Carm, I knew that I needed to invest in the right programs to keep my business organized and efficient. However, I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on systems that didn’t save me time or money in the long run.

In order to choose the right programs, I did lots of research online, through podcasts, and by talking to other entrepreneurs. After that, I made a list of the programs I would need to be successful as a new entrepreneur.

  1. Metricool

    Metricool is especially helpful for social media managers, but I truly recommend it to anyone who will be marketing on social media. They have a free version that allows you to connect one brand (including multiple social media platforms) to the site so you can batch all of your content in one place. Then, you can schedule your posts to go out on each platform all through Metricool, so you don’t have to worry about logging in each day or week and remembering to post.

    For social media managers, I would HIGHLY recommend this platform so you can manage multiple brands from one place. I personally have the paid version, which allows me to manage all of my clients under one login which saves me time because I don’t have to log in and out of each of their accounts. Be sure to ask your clients if they’re comfortable with you using Metricool for their accounts or have it in your contract that you send out so your clients know where their accounts are being managed from.

    They are consistently coming out with new features, which I absolutely love!

2. DUBsado

The next program that I invested in for Content by Carm was Dubsado, which is a customer relationship management (CRM) tool. With Dubsado, I can send out proposals, invoices, and questionnaires to my clients and house them all in one place. Plus - I can create packages that include tons of information and add them right into my proposals, which saves a ton of time.

By using Dubsado’s invoicing tool, my clients can pay right from the invoice I email them each month. I connected my Stripe account with my business bank account, so it’s all a smooth process.

I’ve found that Dubsado makes my life easier in so many ways, and I would recommend it to any new entrepreneur out there!

3. CANVA

Although I am not a graphic designer, I find myself creating tons of graphics for my own marketing and for my clients. I started with a free version of Canva, but I quickly invested in the paid business version for a number of reasons.

With the paid version, you can create a brand hub, which houses your logo, colors, and fonts of your brand. This saves SO much time and ensures that your marketing is cohesive across all graphics.

If you’ve only used Canva for creating posters or an invite, you will be amazed at all the functions that it offers for social media, online branding, presentations, and print. They make graphic design seem so easy and approachable!

4. SQUARESPACE

Along with my social media platforms, I knew I wanted a website to call my own for Content by Carm. Through lots of research, I landed on Squarespace for its ease of use, beautiful templates, and integrations with other sites.

Even in a short time, I’ve already updated my website a few times with different branded photos and updated copy. Each time I log in, I’m impressed with how easy Squarespace is to use and how professional my website looks.
