My 5 favorite marketing & business podcasts
One of my goals is to be a lifelong learner. My mom is a high school English teacher, so the value of education has been instilled in me from a young age. As a new business owner, I have leaned heavily on education to learn and continually grow so that I can provide the best service to my clients.
Right now, one of my favorite ways to learn is through podcasts. I listen to podcasts as often as I can throughout the day - while on walks, when I’m driving, or while I’m doing mundane tasks (hi, laundry!). They are packed with incredibly helpful information, and I love getting to hear people’s stories that they share of their own journeys with business.
If you’re just starting out like me or if you’ve been working on a small business or as an entrepreneur for awhile, these 5 podcasts can be a great resource for you as well! These are my current favorites that have helped inspire me, teach me, and keep me up to date about what’s going on in the business and marketing worlds.
Also, before I share my favorites, I know everyone listens to podcasts on different platforms. For me, I’m an Apple podcast girl, so that’s where the links will take you. If you’re a Spotify lover, they are easy to find on there as well! Happy listening!
I’ve been listening to Jenna Kutcher for a looooong time, and she never fails to educate me and keep me entertained through the whole episode. She started as a wedding photographer and pivoted throughout the years to become a marketing educator for entrepreneurs.
She shares about both her business and personal life, which gives you an inside look into the full lifestyle of an entrepreneur. I have learned so much from Jenna about building an email list, which platforms are the best to use, how to be efficient, and how to enjoy what I’m doing!
I would highly recommend this one to any small business owner, entrepreneur, or anyone who enjoys marketing. You will not be disappointed by her!
2. The Freelance Friday Podcast
I found this podcast right before I launched Content by Carm, and the timing was absolutely perfect! Latasha is a social media manager, and she’s been doing this for awhile which means she has so much experience to share with newbies like me. She has all the helpful tips and tricks to navigate working with clients, building a brand, and keeping up with the latest social media trends.
This one comes out on Fridays (hence the name) which means it’s a perfect way to end the week with some helpful tips that I can directly use in my social media management company. The Freelance Friday podcast is great for social media marketers, but it would also be helpful for business owners looking to up-level their social media strategy.
Plus, Latasha is a big fan of Metricool, a platform for planning and scheduling posts, which is how I found it as well. If you’re looking for a great way to streamline your content management and see helpful analytics, sign up for a free Metricool link here to get started and save yourself lots of headaches!
3. Online Marketing Made Easy
I found Amy Porterfield through Jenna Kutcher, which has been awesome because I already knew it was going to be great from that recommendation. Amy started in her entrepreneurship journey as a social media manager and has transitioned into becoming a business mentor for so many of us.
She provides a lot of practical advice about how to get into entrepreneurship at the beginning, but she also educates her listeners (aka me!) about all things marketing, social media, and business.
I would recommend Amy to any small business owner or anyone who is dreaming about quitting your 9-5 job to start being an entrepreneur. She has encouraged me so many times in my journey so far!
4. The Shine Online Podcast
Once again, I found The Shine Online podcast through Jenna Kutcher. She’s such a great connector! The Shine Online podcast focuses on content creation and content marketing. Natasha shares what’s working for her own content and what’s not working, which can really save time!
I’d recommend this podcast for someone who’s looking for new ideas of content to post for their business online or for another social media manager! She does incorporate some fun life and personal stories into her podcasts as well, which I personally love.
5. The Creator Club
I just recently found this podcast, so I’m excited to dive in deeper and listen to more episodes! Katie focuses on social media marketing and content creation, which again, is so helpful in my own business and for my clients! With this podcast, I feel like she has awesome topics of episodes that are really relatable.
This podcast would be great for anyone looking to be an influencer, become a content creator, for social media managers, and once again, for businesses who want to enhance their online presence.
Well there you have it! Those are my current favorite podcasts that I’m listening to and enjoying as a social media manager. I’d love to hear from you if you’re enjoying these as well or if you have any recommendations for me that you’re loving!
Maybe someday I’ll also jump into podcasting myself! Until then, I’ll enjoy listening to the experts and continue learning from them.
